Bob Nell has worked as a pianist, composer, performer, piano tuner, and technician for more than four decades. During his tuning career, he has tuned for symphonies, university music department faculty, schools, churches, and renowned jazz pianists Tommy Flanagan, Ramsey Lewis, McCoy Tyner, Ahmad Jamal, and Diana Krall.

His current piano service is limited to tuning. He is an associate member of the Piano Technicians Guild.
